For Mac · macOS 14 or later
Your HomeKit home, in a proper Mac app.
Homestead puts your lights, thermostats, locks, garage doors, blinds, cameras, sensors and scenes in one window, with a sidebar, real controls and keyboard shortcuts.

Your whole home on one page
The Summary shows local weather, which doors are locked, the garage, your scenes, camera snapshots and what changed recently. The bar along the bottom keeps a count of unlocked doors, lights that are on and the indoor temperature.

Rooms sorted the way you live in them
Rooms are grouped by floor in the sidebar, and each room splits its accessories into Lights, Climate, Doors & Locks, Cameras, Blinds & Windows, Switches & Outlets and Sensors. Every tile tells you its state at a glance.

Real controls, not just on and off
Select a light to set brightness, pick a color on the wheel or dial in a warm or cool white. Thermostats get target temperature and mode, blinds get a position, fans get speed. Sliders send one change when you let go, so your lights don't flicker through every step.

Security in one place
Locks, garage doors, contact sensors and cameras together on one screen. Unlocking a door asks you first, and accessories that aren't responding are clearly marked and can't be changed by accident.

And the rest
Scenes

Questions
What do I need to use Homestead?+
A Mac running macOS 14 Sonoma or later, signed in to the same Apple Account you use with the Apple Home app. Homestead shows the homes, rooms, accessories and scenes you already set up in Apple Home. You add and pair new accessories in Apple Home on your iPhone, iPad or Mac.
Which accessories does it control?+
Lights (power, brightness, color and color temperature), thermostats, locks, garage doors, blinds and other window coverings, fans, switches and outlets, and HomeKit cameras (snapshots). It shows readings from temperature, humidity, motion, contact, leak, smoke, air quality and other sensors, and runs your HomeKit scenes. Accessories bridged through Homebridge or HOOBS work like any other HomeKit accessory.
Why does Homestead ask for HomeKit access?+
macOS asks you once before any app can read your home. If you click Don't Allow, you can turn access back on in System Settings > Privacy & Security > HomeKit.
What is the Homestead helper I see in System Settings?+
Homestead talks to HomeKit through a small helper that ships inside the app. macOS lists it under General > Login Items & Extensions > Allow in the Background. It runs only while Homestead needs to talk to HomeKit and only accepts connections from Homestead itself.
Does my home data leave my Mac?+
No. Your homes, rooms, accessories and camera snapshots stay on your Mac and are never sent to us. If you add a home address for weather, Apple turns it into coordinates and returns the forecast. The privacy policy has the details.
Why is the weather empty?+
Click Add Home Address under your home's name on the Summary page. Homestead uses that address to fetch local weather from Apple Weather.
When can I get it?+
Homestead is not on sale yet. Email hello@greatwork.company and we'll let you know when it is.
